Colin Pillinger
This is the personal website of Professor Colin Pillinger.
I am probably best known as the leader of the Beagle
2 project,
the attempt to land a British built spacecraft on
Mars on
Christmas day 2003, to search for evidence of life
on the Red
planet. I have however been involved in space
exploration for
nearly 40 years since I joined the NASA Apollo
programme in 1968.
Throughout that time I have tried to share my
experiences with
the public through lectures, exhibitions, newspaper
articles,
books, radio and tv interviews etc. This website is
intended
to continue that process.
